A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work with one of our long-term engineering clients based in Burgess Hill. This trainee position would suit someone who enjoys administration, has good attention to detail but also who wants to build a career in a niche and growing engineering company.
This role provides administrative support to the sales and process engineering departments.
As this is a trainee role, the salary would be £19,500 for under 21-year-olds and £22,308 for 21-year-olds and over.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Processing new sales leads and opportunities for the team, including the preparation of tender documents.
2. Managing technical documents in line with Company QA procedures.
3. Monitoring of correspondence between the sales team and clients.
4. Answering phone calls and liaising with clients as required.
5. Scheduling of diaries, meetings, and meeting rooms.
6. Monitoring and updating the Company CRM (database).
7. Managing and updating central sales documents and presentations.
8. Assisting in the preparation of pre-qualification documentation.
9. Using own initiative to pro-actively develop new admin systems in conjunction with sales managers and Business Development Director.
10. Ensuring relevant bid/estimate signoffs are attained in line with Quality Procedures.
11. Booking of departmental travel.
12. General sales and administrative duties as may be required.
COMPETENCIES
1. Extremely organised with good attention to detail.
2. Able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload.
3. An interest in engineering would be advantageous; an eagerness to develop product and industry knowledge is essential.
4. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.
EXCELLENT COMPANY BENEFITS
1. Hours of work: 37½ hours per week: Monday – Thursday 08.30 - 17.30 with ¾ hour lunch break; Friday 08.30 - 13.00 with no lunch break.
2. Holidays: 22 days per year, increasing after a full calendar year’s service by one day per year to a maximum of 25 days. Fridays are counted as a half-day holiday. The office is closed between Christmas and New Year. Holiday must be reserved for this period.
3. Pension: The Company will match contributions up to 7% into our direct contribution pension scheme.
4. Life Insurance: Death-in-Service cover at the rate of 4 times salary.
5. Private Health Care: Employees are eligible to join the private health care scheme after 6 months’ service. Employee dependants can be covered at their own cost but as part of the group scheme.
