Location: Head Office - Milton Keynes
Salary: Competitive basic salary, plus up to 10% performance bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week, working Monday to Friday

The Role
Following a review of our Procurement function with significant investment as part of a wider transformation programme, we’re looking for a Category Manager with excellent influencing, stakeholder management and negotiation skills to own the Building Services category.
Taking ownership of c.£19m annual spend covering a whole range of building services (including Waste, Cleaning Services, Security Services, Maintenance, Electrical Services) across our UK Dealership network, you’ll be keen to make an impact on this newly created category, delivering cost savings and introducing formal contract management and supplier relationship strategies, whilst playing a key role in contributing towards corporate and social responsibilities.
Responsible for creating and implementing a category strategy, you’ll be able to identify efficiencies and implement a high performing supply chain, whilst building collaborative and influenceable relationships both internally and externally. You’ll balance this strategic approach with the day to day tactical management of the category, often working with complex supply chains and requests from colleagues and co-workers.#
Having the ability to work autonomously whilst working collaboratively with the wider business will be critical to the success of this role. You’ll need to be able to be a strategic long term thinker who is solution orientated and not be afraid to get stuck in.
What will I do?
• Creation, ownership and delivery of category strategies, aligned to the wider business and Group business objectives, delivering enhanced value for money, mitigates supply risk and continually enhances value.
• Utilise market research and insights to bring innovation into category strategy whilst mitigating potential supply chain risks
• Proactively develop and implement cost saving initiatives in line with annual targets on a continual basis.
• Develop and lead commercial and contractual strategies and negotiations that result in successful delivery.
• Implement contract and supplier relationship management (In line with Procurement framework) within specific categories to ensure successful contractual performance
• Build effective internal and external relationships
• Develop and implement category reporting showing performance against agreed success factors
• Support in the wider Procurement system implementation and ongoing transformation ensuring category aligns to overall Procurement success metrics
• Support in the ongoing development and enhancement of Procurement policies, processes and governance frameworks
• Escalate where necessary strategic and operational risks as part of Group Risk Framework.
What do I need?
1. 3-5 years experience in a strategic procurement role. Individuals who have Facilities procurement experience would be an advantage.
2. You are ideally a Category Buyer / Buyer / Procurement Manager wanting to make the next step, or a Category Manager wanting more scope in your role.
3. You will be a self starter and capable of using your initiative whilst being a long term strategic thinker.
4. You will possess strong stakeholder management skills, be prepared to challenge and present your case/argument logically.
5. Someone who is prepared to work in a hybrid environment - 2/3 days in Milton Keynes with home working and travel to UK dealerships.
6. Any experience or exposure to Source to Pay / Procure to Pay systems would be an advantage ( Coupa)
7. CIPS qualified.
