Salary: Grade 5: (SCP 6-9) £25,183 – £26,409 pa

Hours: 37 hours per week
As a key member of our small and friendly team, you will have an excellent standard of written English, strong communication skills, excellent IT skills, be organised and able to work outside normal office hours (typically 2 or 3 times a month).
You will need to be a confident communicator who can develop a good working relationship with Councillors, senior officers and members of the public. You also need to be well organised with the ability to continually prioritise an ever-changing workload.
The key tasks of this post will be:
1. Servicing member level bodies, including decision-making committees and working groups
2. Preparing and publishing agendas in liaison with appropriate members and officers and to ensure that they meet all legal and internally agreed standards
3. Organising and attending evening and daytime meetings, taking minutes and publishing them
4. Leading on the development and delivery of the Member Learning and Development Plan
5. Assisting with the planning and delivery of elections and maintaining the electoral register.
This is a specialist role but previous Democratic Services experience is not essential as full training and support can be provided to candidates that have the right skills, abilities, attitude and knowledge.
