We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a leading designer, manufacturer and global provider of bespoke products used by the offshore harsh environment industry.
We are presenting an exciting opportunity for a Financial Controller to join the team in Hoddesdon.
This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management, while also ensuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices. You will lead a small finance team and play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making at the company.
Responsibilities:
* Produce month-end results to the current detailed standard within the two-day close period. This includes full trial balance to budget comparisons, review of total results, job costing analysis and budget variance bridges.
* Prepare weekly revenue forecasts, annual budgets, and bi-annual reforecasts.
* Oversee cash flow forecasting, monitor and manage weekly cash flow reports, and ensure effective debtor management.
* Manage the annual audit and ensure statutory accounts are completed and filed on time without corrections.
* Oversee tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines (supported by third parties).
* Support and oversee the company’s R&D tax credit claims.
* Handle insurance renewals, coverage assessments, and claims.
* Maintain strong relationships with banks, overseeing processes related to letters of credit, performance bonds, and other financial instruments.
* Lead and develop the accounting team – 2.5 FTEs.
Qualifications:
* Fully qualified accountant.
* Strong hands-on financial reporting and forecasting skills.
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable.
* Experience managing or supervising a finance team.
* Highly analytical and detail-oriented.
* Proactive and solution-driven, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
* A salary of up to £70,000 dependent on skills, knowledge and experience.
