The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner of the Place Directorate, this role will provide essential management support to the Place Finance team and will manage and deliver a number of essential responsibilities including:
* Reporting the Directorate’s financial position, both revenue and capital including savings programmes, supporting the delivery of the medium term financial strategy, completion of annual accounts and grant claims, all within required timescales.
* Evaluating invest to save/service transformation proposals to deliver cost efficiencies, together with the evaluation of future year service delivery models.
* The continuous review, development and implementation of financial systems, policies and procedures.
* The provision of influential input to the decision making process, including objective challenge on strategy and policy development, efficiency and encouraging a culture of continual improvement.
* The provision of management advice and/or direction to the team for corrective action on any matter that would affect the integrity of financial data or the Council’s financial performance.
* Liaison with officers across a range of disciplines within the Council together with related partners, stakeholders and agencies including external audit.
