The opportunity
As our Motor Vehicle Trainer, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of motor industry professionals. Through a mix of hands-on training and theoretical learning, you will equip our apprentices with the technical skills, safety awareness, and professional mindset needed to succeed. Your engaging sessions will align with industry expectations, inspiring our learners and preparing them for their chosen careers.
Managing a caseload of apprentices, you’ll track their progress, conduct workplace assessments, and maintain strong employer relationships. You will also help our learners stay on course through regular tri-party reviews, setting SMART targets, and ensuring they develop key competencies, from fault diagnosis and vehicle servicing to hybrid and electric vehicle technology.
Beyond teaching, you will create dynamic learning materials, maintain a well-equipped workshop, and ensure compliance with awarding body requirements. You will also guide our apprentices through their end-point assessments, providing timely feedback and real-world insights.
Collaboration will be key this role, whether supporting our learners with additional needs, working with other trades, or engaging with employers to create valuable opportunities. You will also play a role in onboarding our new apprentices and ensuring they receive the support needed to succeed.

About you
We’re looking for a passionate and experienced motor vehicle professional to help develop the next generation of skilled technicians. With a strong background in vehicle maintenance and repair, you’ll bring up-to-date knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including hybrid and electric technology, while ensuring apprentices gain the skills, confidence, and professionalism needed to succeed. Experience in delivering apprenticeship programmes and a solid understanding of compliance procedures are key to this role.
You’ll need a recognised motor vehicle qualification, such as an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, along with industry experience. A teaching or assessing qualification would be an advantage, but if you don’t have one, we’ll support you in gaining it. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you’ll be managing apprentices, working closely with employers, and supporting learners to progress in their careers. You should also be confident using IT systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, to support your delivery and record-keeping.
We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, organised, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. You should be reflective, open to new ideas, and keen to improve performance through fresh approaches. A flexible and adaptable attitude will be crucial in delivering engaging training and tailoring support to meet the needs of each apprentice.

• Minimum 2 years' motor industry experience
• GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent Level 2)
