Our Finance Teams: Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across a few locations, but operate as one team, and work together to create a positive, productive and highly efficient finance department within News UK. The Team: T he SSD team is a tight-knit group of five dedicated professionals who excel in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple daily deadlines with efficiency and precision. Role: A varied role that cuts across Data analysis and transactional processes. The Key responsibilities include validating wholesaler data feeds, identifying and resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate supply data to support the allocation team in determining Newspaper allocation levels. The role also involves creating and verifying News UK and third-party orders in the SAP system, reconciling final print figures, and processing returns and voucher transactions. A critical aspect of the role is supporting the billing process by ensuring that returns and vouchers are accurately processed and reflected in financial systems. In addition, the Data Analyst must have a full understanding of the ABC newspaper audit process, ensuring all relevant data and documentation meet the required standards and are prepared accurately for reporting purposes. This includes maintaining accurate records of print runs, distribution, and returns, and working closely with internal teams to ensure compliance with ABC guidelines. Role Objectives Design and build reports required in the SSD team using SAC, Datashere and Tableau Run reporting to check End of Day print figures for Live News, Colour and reconcile day of issue Loading and managing all NUK & 3rd Party Supply inc contracts and PP management Perform SORDET data integrity checks to ensure data is accurate. Have a full understanding of the Data Integrity Role Proactive monitoring of the SSD inbox Processing of weekly Returns for News UK and 3rd Party titles and preparation of reporting across the business Have a Good Understanding to be able to cover and support ABC reporting requirements across the business, ensuring all new deals are compliant Manage the New Account process and set-up in SAP Produce regular and ad-hoc reports which provide daily, weekly and monthly insight into circulation sales, supply chain and allocation performance Support the Supervisor and the Manager by conducting ad-hoc data gathering, reporting, analysis and interrogation Undertake Cross Training of SSD Tasks, Providing cover during Busy/ Holiday periods, and as and when required Engage with stakeholders across multiple business areas, including Logistics, Circulation,Allocation, Corporate and others to ensure reporting is useful and user friendly To contribute ideas and recommendations for more efficient ways of working, which satisfy the needs of the users and stakeholders Key Skills A n understanding of the newspaper supply chain (Wholesale) – desirable A background in Finance, or the ability to manage adjustments, charges and credits Excellent analytical abilities, ensuring high levels of data accuracy. An eye for detail and the ability to proactively find solutions to problems High level of competence in Microsoft Excel; specifically being comfortable with advanced formulas and techniques with macro ability an advantage.Pr oficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems is desirable.
