An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Physiotherapist to join the team at Broomfield Hospital on a rotational basis.
Our therapy team at Broomfield is now led by a whole new management team with an agreed ethos of improved opportunities for all staff. You will be part of an agile, friendly, highly motivated team of therapists working within multidisciplinary teams delivering rehabilitation and discharge planning for our inpatient adult population.
Our 6 month rotations include Orthopaedics -incl both Trauma and Elective (Broomfield/Braintree Community Hospital), Emergency Floor – incl A&E and Frailty, Stroke, Respiratory and Surgery -incl Amputee outpatients, Elderly Care and Specialist Medicine.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the provision of physiotherapy in the acute setting; excellent communication skills, and a desire to grow and develop people and services around them.

Part of the Mid and South Essex clinical pathway redesign, Broomfield Hospital is an innovative, dynamic environment. Our integrated Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Therapy Assistant service has a high profile within the Trust.
You will have experience of working in an acute hospital and facilitating complex discharges using excellent assessment and problem solving skills. Supervision of junior staff, assistants and Physiotherapy students is also part of this role. Therapy Services is a friendly and supportive department with a strong focus on professional and personal development, and a commitment to regular clinical supervision for all staff, as well as rotational and annual appraisal.
There is a requirement for the post holder to participate in the respiratory out of hours on-call service and our weekend and public holiday roster.

• You will be responsible for assessing, treating and clinically managing patients with a range of conditions and functional deficits, and creating the treatment program required to achieve a successful discharge.
• Adheres to HCPC regulations and Physiotherapy professional code of conduct.
• Complies with documentation standards and is aware of importance of Data Protection Act, and the legal and clinical implications of record keeping.
• Acts in accordance with Staff Charter and Code of Conduct.
• Is aware of and implements Trust and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
• Works as an autonomous Physiotherapist.
• Recognises own role and works within role as part of department and multi-disciplinary team (MDT).
• Has the ability to review personal competencies/practice through effective use of supervision and appraisal of self.
• Deputises for Band 7 physiotherapist for agreed periods of time and in specified circumstances.
• Understands the complaints procedure and the need for reporting, and local resolution.
• Demonstrates effective and assertive behaviour in confrontational and moderately complex situations.
• Balances clinical and non-clinical commitments with minimal support
• Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of current issues around Physiotherapy within health and social care
