We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Occupational Therapist to join our CAMHS mental health inpatient team based at Sowenna.
You will be an integral part of the inpatient therapy team, as well as a key member of the wider MDT, supporting clinical staff and providing interventions on the ward. You may also work alongside members of the MARRS team, to help support the transition process of young people back into the community.
The successful candidate will be required to draw upon the developing evidence base to support assessment, formulation, intervention, and evaluation processes at Sowenna.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing evidence based Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment and support to young people and their families. They will also facilitate Occupational Therapy group work and co facilitate with other team members the group-based therapy programmes delivered on the unit.
The post holder will be required to offer consultation to the staff group regarding young peoples’ occupational needs and communicate these with the wider CAMHS service and our multi-agency colleagues. They will also be expected to offer supervision to more junior members of the team, including Occupational Therapists, Trainee Occupational Therapists and Activity Co-ordinators. We would like the post holder to contribute to CPD training internally and there will also be the opportunity to contribute to service audits and research developments.

Over 4,000 people make up the Trust. This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.
We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.
Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area. This increases the numbers of people who use our services.
