Te Kura o Huriawa Thorrington is a contributing primary school located in Cashmere at the foot of the Port Hills. "Huriawa" is a name gifted by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tūāhuriri and means "the bend in the river".

We are seeking a new entrant teacher to begin our second cohort. We invite interest from teachers who are caring, collaborative, and passionate about learning. Our future-focused pedagogy is competency-based, authentic, and holistic. Relationships with learners, colleagues, and whānau are at the heart of everything we do.
Experience with teaching structured literacy is essential, as is your commitment to Te Reo and Tikanga Māori and becoming more culturally inclusive within your practice.
This position is for the 2025 school year. The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the Primary Teachers Collective Agreement.
