Job Description Field Service Engineer Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer who is fed up working 60 hours a week, never seeing family and friends, and having no work life balance? We are working with a high precision machinery manufacturer, and they are currently looking to recruit a number of Field Service Engineers to join their team. You will be the face of the business, servicing, repairing, and installing the range of machinery that the company manufacture. This is a company that thrive on the quality of work and service you provide, not the number of clients you visit. You will cover a region of the UK, with optional work in Europe, and training opportunities in Japan. Job Responsibilities Carry out machine installations, including all electrical, electronic, and mechanical work according to manufacturer specifications Follow all relevant Health & Safety procedures, and test the machine to guarantee customer satisfaction Perform repair work, assessing the issue, confirming what ’ s covered, and promptly ordering replacement parts Complete repairs in line with the manufacturer ’ s specifications and ensure the machine operates to the satisfaction of both the manufacturer and the customer Report progress to the Service Manager and work with customers as needed Ensure repairs meet customer satisfaction and report any significant problems to both the Service Manager and the customer Develop maintenance documentation and offer general machine maintenance training to ensure customers can maintain their machines effectively Stay up to date with the latest machine models by attending manufacturer training sessions as needed, ensuring high standards of technical support are available from the date of new machine launches Be flexible and prepared to carry out any additional tasks or responsibilities as required by the company, ensuring a consistently high standard of service Person Specification To be successful as a Field Service Engineer, you will need: Demonstrated experience and a proven track record in working with high-precision machinery, ideally CNC lathes or metal cutting machinery Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems Solid electrical skills with experience in diagnosing and resolving electrical faults Familiarity with PLC systems and ladder logic programming Proficient in reading, interpreting, and fully understanding technical documentation, including schematics and manuals Ability to work independently, manage tasks proactively, and make decisions with minimal supervision Hours of Work, Pay, and Benefits Up to £35,000 (OTE Circa £50,000) Monday to Friday – Circa 40 hours a week Company car – typically a BMW 330e Pension up to 6% matched 22 days holiday Bonuses Company performance bonus – paid annually Bonus for every machine sold – paid monthly
