Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established organisation with nearly 100 years of heritage. They specialise in the design, build and global distribution of specialist mobile plant machinery and haulage equipment.
Due to continued growth and investment in the business, our client is seeking the addition of a Controls Engineer with particular experience working with the electronic control system, Parker IQAN. The successful candidate will be tasked with responsibilities such as process control, electrical engineering, system troubleshooting, FPGA coding and traction drive transmitting.
In return, the successful candidate will receive a generous starting salary of up to £70,000. Other benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, sick pay, hybrid working options, internal training, early finish time on Fridays (1pm), free parking as well as genuine scope for further career progression.
Key Responsibilities
* Configure, design and test Parker IQAN control system to be able to command and control mobile machines and overhaul equipment
* Integrate PLCs into Parker IQAN system
* Run in-depth in-house testing of the control system prior to site installations
* Develop CAN bus communication system and other network protocols
* Maintain integrity of system’s data and ensure compliance to machine functional safety standards
* Collaborate with shopfloor Engineers to ensure they know how to set up and run the system
* Design and develop user interface system and write structured command functions
* Perform FMEA analysis of the system and associated products to mitigate risks and identify command failures
Skills and Experience
* Demonstrable experience working as a Control Systems Engineer
* Experience working with Parker IQAN a distinct advantage
* Experience working with process control systems desirable
* Degree/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
* Proven experience in the integration, programming and configuration of PLC controllers
* Knowledge and experience of CAN bus protocols including J1939-71 and J1939-76
* IEC 61508 certified highly desirable
* Experience working with Simulink and MATLAB
* Ability to perform in-depth FMEA analysis
* Experience working in the Rail/Haulage industry sectors desirable
* Well versed with EN 61508/13849 machine functional safety standards
Vacancy Summary
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Thursday – 8am-4pm, Friday – 8am-1pm
Salary: Up to £70,000 per annum D.O.E
