Main duties of the job Core Responsibilities: To assist the Theatre Manager and Theatre Team in the delivery, standards and management of patient care within the theatre. Provide skilled assistance to the surgeons (Surgical First Assistant desirable). Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing high quality pre and post-operative patient-centred care and customer service. Provide guidance, support and clinical scrub expertise and leadership to the Theatre team, whilst working closely with the senior team to ensure effective use of Theatre resources. Demonstrate clinical expertise in specialist area and act as a resource to proactively enhance the service to our clients. Ensure that the theatre is prepared for use on a daily basis in line with quality standards. Comply with internal procedures to ensure equipment is maintained/serviced in line with manufacturers instructions, reporting any defects and notifying the Theatre Manager and Deputy Theatre Manager. Ensure that all required documentation (legal, quality or other) is accurately maintained. In accordance with policies and procedures, ensure that medicines administration and management is carried out appropriately. Coordinate and maintain adequate stock levels of drugs, stores and implants liaising with the Theatre Manager and / Procurement. Maintain effective communication across the Hospital, including with patients, team members and Consultants. About us The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital was established in Aylesbury in 1832. and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. The ownership of the hospital was transferred to our new management team in January 2023.
