Job overview
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a specialty doctor in Ophthalmology.
We are delighted to offer 3 x 12 month Fixed Term specialty doctor posts to join a team of current 9 Ophthalmology consultants working both at King’s Mill Hospital and Newark Hospital. This is a busy, dynamic department treating a variety of ophthalmological conditions. The post-holder will undertake on call commitment of approximately a 1 in 8 rota.

Main duties of the job
The over-riding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

Person specification
Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent
* Full registration with the General Medical Council with a licence to practice
Experience
* Must have completed at least 4 years full time postgraduate training at least 2 of which must be in Ophthalmology
* Diabetic retinopathy screening, laser experience and independent cataract experience
Teaching
* Experience with audit, teaching or research/critical review of literature essential
* Evidence of teaching medical students, nursing or para-medical staff
Research
* Completed at least one audit project related to ophthalmology
