Job Summary
Neurology Department - Pathway Coordinator (Medical Secretary)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Pathway Coordinator to join the Neurology team, based on level 10 at Derriford Hospital.
The role is demanding and interesting and will require someone who is flexible, able to work well within a busy environment, with attention to detail to manage a variety of tasks to meet deadlines within the service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, capable, and motivated individual to join our team. The post-holder will work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure tasks are completed to a high standard to ensure the smooth running of the service.
The ideal candidate must have a flexible 'can do' attitude, the ability to use own initiative, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and IT skills.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can demonstrate recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

* Contribute to the management and coordination of the clinical office, including:
o Ensuring delivery of high-quality service to clinical teams
o Enabling access standards compliance
o Adhering to administrative policies and guidelines

Job Description & Responsibilities
* Manage waiting lists and ensure targets are met
* Support patient management systems and data quality
* Book outpatient sessions and manage correspondence
* Attend meetings and support clinical pathways
* Handle patient and colleague queries professionally
* Support clinical commitments and diary management
* Respond to complaints promptly
* Use IT systems daily for patient information management
* Provide administrative support to the clinical team
Person Specification
Essential:
* Proven knowledge of waiting list management and patient systems
* Excellent organizational and initiative skills
* NVQ Level 3 in business administration or equivalent
* OCR III keyboard skills or equivalent
Desirable:
* Experience with AMSPAR or similar
