Working closely with the Health & Wellbeing Manager, this role plays a key part in delivering our departmental business plan, ensuring our programmes meet the evolving needs of our community. From young people to older adults, you’ll help design and deliver high-quality, accessible health and physical activity opportunities that empower individuals to lead healthier lives.
The Health & Wellbeing Coordinator is responsible for the strategic coordination and delivery of inclusive health and wellbeing projects across the Trust. The role focuses on enhancing physical activity, promoting mental wellbeing, and fostering social inclusion within diverse communities, particularly among underrepresented groups.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Coordination & Project Development
* Align all activities with the strategic development of the Trust.
* Coordinate project budgets, support with applications for additional funding, and ensure financial sustainability.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement and evaluation of health initiatives.
* Plan and deliver high-quality, accessible health and physical activity sessions for all ages.
* Lead on aspects of RUCT's Health Offer, including open access, targeted, detached, and 1:1 sessions.
* Deliver group-based learning and facilitate accredited outcomes for participants.
Community Engagement & Inclusion
* Actively engage underrepresented groups, removing barriers to participation.
* Support and advocate for individuals and families from diverse communities.
* Promote wellbeing opportunities in schools, care homes, and community settings.
Partnership Development
* Maintain strong communication and working relationships with project partners.
* Develop and nurture partnerships with National Governing Bodies, funders, schools, and community organisations.
* Represent the Trust at meetings and events as required.
* Supervise coaching staff, apprentices, and volunteers.
* Mentor team members and support their development.
* Identify and develop local community volunteers in collaboration with partner agencies.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Administration
* Monitor and evaluate all projects using appropriate systems and tools.
* Maintain accurate data and reporting for funders and internal stakeholders.
* Carry out administrative tasks including registers, reports, retention and achievement data.
Promotion & Representation
* Actively promote health and wellbeing projects across the community.
* Prepare materials and communications to increase project visibility and engagement.
Professional Development
* Participate in relevant training and upskilling (e.g. Level 3/4 Exercise Specialist qualifications).
* Share best practices across teams to enhance service quality and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
* Health related degree or equivalent experience.
* Safeguarding, First Aid & DBS (arranged by RUCT).
* Experience coordinating community-based health and wellbeing programmes.
* Strong understanding of social inclusion and the barriers to participation.
* Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
* Experience working with children, young people, adults, and older adults.
* Ability to monitor and evaluate projects using digital tools.
* Leadership skills to manage and develop support staff and volunteers.
* A flexible, proactive approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Additional Information
* The role will require regular evening and occasional weekend work.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle will be necessary.
