Job Summary
An exciting role is now available within the Medicine and Emergency Care Division Workforce Team. This position provides administrative support to ensure effective day-to-day medical staffing. The post holder will work closely with medical staff to enable proper doctor coverage across wards and the Emergency Department.
Main Duties
The main responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring efficient delivery of medical staffing administration across the division.
2. Communicating effectively with medical workforce and management to support rota and service coverage.
3. Developing expertise in medical staffing in liaison with the Trust's Medical Staffing and Education Service to provide timely advice.
4. Supporting the Service Manager and Clinical Director to meet educational and legislative requirements for medical staff.

Job Responsibilities

1. Building a close working relationship with the Divisional Co-ordinator, Service Managers, and consultants to resolve operational issues and ensure appropriate staffing.
2. Planning deployment of medical staff, managing leave, duty rosters, and locum cover, with monthly updates.
3. Supporting recruitment and appointment processes for doctors, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and deadlines.
4. Collaborating with Medical Staffing and locum agencies to secure resources cost-effectively and in line with NHS directives.
5. Facilitating the release of doctors for training events locally and regionally.
6. Maintaining manual and digital administrative systems for easy data retrieval.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Experience in an admin/office environment
* GCSE level education or equivalent
* Experience in a multidisciplinary team
* Familiarity with work-based computer packages
* Good communication skills (written and verbal)
* Organizational and prioritization skills
* Alignment with Trust Values
Desirable:
* Previous NHS experience
* Experience with medical staff management and rotas
* Knowledge of Junior Doctors' hour monitoring
