Job Description
Do you have experience in managing costs throughout the contract lifecycle? This can be within facilities management or construction environments. If so, our client, who specializes in facilities management, maintenance, and installation services, is looking for a Commercial Officer to report to the Commercial Manager and oversee the commercial procedures in all phases of a project/contract from inception to completion.
Being efficient and proactive, you will build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, supporting effective collaboration and contributing to project success.
Responsibilities:
* Analysis of requirements and production of contract lifecycle cost plan.
* Provide support and clarification to stakeholders in relation to contract queries.
* Produce comprehensive quotations.
* Control all aspects of project or contract cost management.
* Engage with supply chain and conduct procurement, including framework contracts.
* Understand the implications of H&S regulations and industry requirements.
* Authorisation of supply chain invoices and settling accounts.
* Carry out invoicing and applications as appropriate.
* Pricing billable works and agreeing variations.
* Produce cash flow forecasts as necessary.
* Maintain and contribute to robust commercial procedures.
* Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
* Maintain & develop a knowledge of industry developments and practices.
* Building & maintaining effective working relations with other departments.
Required Skills and Abilities:
* Commercial experience in a construction, FM, or maintenance environment.
* Management of project costs.
* Working relationships with clients and supply chain.
* Microsoft Office software.
* Well organised with meticulous attention to detail.
* Highly numerate.
* Strong written and verbal communication with good negotiation skills.
* Effective time management skills and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Adaptable, flexible, and able to multitask.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Formal Quantity Surveying qualification.
* CIPS or equivalent.
* CIWFM.
* RICS Accreditation.
Working Hours:
* 37 hours per week.
* 9am – 4pm – Mon-Thurs and 9am – 3.30pm on Fridays.
* £30,000 - £45,000 depending on experience and knowledge.
