Job Overview:
As an StR Lower Psychiatrist specializing in Old Age, you will play a crucial role in the provision of high-quality mental health care for elderly individuals. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic healthcare team, contributing to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with psychiatric disorders specific to the elderly population.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough clinical assessments and provide accurate diagnoses for elderly patients with psychiatric disorders.
2. Treatment Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of elderly individuals, incorporating a range of therapeutic interventions.
3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
4. Continuous Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest developments in psychiatry, particularly in the field of Old Age Psychiatry, and actively engage in continuous professional development.
5. Quality Improvement: Contribute to the ongoing improvement of clinical services by participating in quality assurance initiatives and adhering to relevant clinical governance standards.
6. Training and Supervision: Provide support and supervision to junior medical staff and contribute to the training and education of medical students and other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Requirements:
7. Medical degree and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
8. Completion of core psychiatry training
9. Registration on the Specialist Register for Psychiatry or eligibility for entry
10. Experience and interest in Old Age Psychiatry
11. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
