About the role Permanent Full Time opportunity for students enrolled in, or eligble to progress to, 2nd year or 2rd year studies. Council’s Environmental Health Team is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our dynamic team. The position will assist in a wide range of environmental health issues, including on-site sewage management, environmental assessment of development applications, pollution response, food shop and public health programs, environmental programs and education initiatives. The position will work within Teams in the Environment Health Section. As a Trainee Environmental Health Officer, you will be currently undertaking a tertiary course in Environmental Health or Environmental Management and will have completed at least the first year of your studies. Essential Criteria Currently undertaking or recently completed a degree in Environmental Health or Environmental Management; Demonstrated communication skills both written and verbal; Computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office Applications; Experience working as part of a team; Demonstrated time management skills; and A current Class C Driver Licence Desirable Criteria Previous experience in a relevant area; and An understanding of the relevant environmental health legislation Commencing Salary Trainee: Salary is dependent upon course progression and previous experience. Additionally, your university fees are paid for, under Council’s Educational Assistance Policy. Appointment to this position is temporary for a period up to the completion of your degree.
