Use your expertise to enrich the lives of others
PGL is a world where children achieve the ‘impossible’.
Our residential adventure camps create extraordinary breakthroughs through active and life-affirming experiences in the great outdoors.
But that’s not all… we’re part of something bigger. We’re powered by PGL Beyond, a group of inspiring companies with a shared purpose to deliver enriching and transformative experiences to the next generation.
Make a difference as a People & Culture Officer
At PGL, people are people, not ‘resources’. So we waved farewell to ‘Human Resources’, and introduced ‘People & Culture’, which much better reflects our two key priorities; looking after our people, and developing an amazing culture… which go hand-in-hand like kids and ziplines! Our People & Culture team put a modern spin to traditional HR, and are the driving force behind making PGL an incredible place to work, have fun & develop an enriching career.
Our People & Culture Officers are experts in balancing the fun and professional working environment which makes #TeamPGL so special. In this role you’ll gain an understanding of what makes our people tick, what is important to our colleagues and use this information to continuously improve the way the P&C team operate.
You will be providing vital support to our colleagues from acting as a champion for their welfare and wellbeing, to providing professional support & advice to our line managers to help them lead their team & resolve employee queries in the best possible way. You’ll enjoy building an excellent working relationship with the central resourcing team to achieve our recruitment goals, and the central people development team to upskill and train management teams.
Is this you?
* Previous working experience in Human Resources/People & Culture
* Approachable, friendly, and an excellent listener
* Experience of delivering training, recruiting, advising line managers in employee relations cases, as well as being an advocate of colleague engagement and wellbeing.
* Analytically minded with ability to produce informative reports and presentations
Above all, it’s our core values of FUN, SAFETY, QUALITY, INCLUSIVITY, TEAMWORK and RESPECT that unite us.
A place to thrive
No matter your background, ethnicity, sexuality/gender identity, SEND, neurodivergence or anything else… PGL is a place to be yourself, have fun, use your valuable skills for good and celebrate what makes you brilliantly unique.
Fair pay and benefits for all
* On top of your 25 days annual leave (+ 8 bank holidays), you’ll also enjoy your birthday off, have paid volunteering days to help worthwhile causes and the option to purchase additional holiday. You’ll accrue additional leave with service up to 30 days.
* A career with ongoing growth, multiple pathways and opportunities to work across different locations.
* 24/7 wellbeing and mental health hub and access to financial assistance
* Free/discounted PGL breaks for your family & discounts at 800+ retailers.
