Role: Governance Manager

Avro Football Club is seeking a Governance Manager to join our team in a voluntary capacity.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic governance services of a high standard to the board, the executive leadership team, and the club in general.
The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting skills, sound judgment and diplomacy, and exceptional attention to detail. We are seeking someone with the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders across the club. Experience within a legal and governance setting is desirable.
Duties will include:
1. Providing proactive legal and business-focused advice to ensure risk mitigation and regulatory compliance across all areas of the club
2. Advising on and effectively managing legal and governance issues
3. Embedding and managing a document review tracking system to ensure all documentation is reviewed within required timescales
4. Reviewing and maintaining all governance policies and procedures, incorporating best practices
5. Representing the club and engaging with external organisations on governance-related matters
6. Managing governance requirements, undertaking regular reviews, and reporting any areas of non-compliance to the CEO/COO
7. Supporting the periodic review of the Articles of Association
8. Ensuring the club operates in adherence to its Articles of Association, relevant codes and regulations, and applicable laws
9. Acting as the key contact for member institutions on all governance-related inquiries
10. Supporting policy development and review
11. Providing support to the CEO/COO on key projects with a legal and governance nature
12. Offering administrative support for disciplinary matters
