About the School:
We are assisting a vibrant and growing primary school, located in Poole, Dorset, in their search for a dedicated and dynamic SEN Teaching Assistant. This school caters to students from Years 2 to 6, focusing on providing quality education to pupils with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) diagnosis or similar needs. As we actively expand our teaching team through a phased-opening system, we are eager to welcome a motivated educator to become a foundational member of our school community.
Role Overview:
In this role, the SEN Teaching Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Class Teacher in delivering engaging subject lessons from our innovative and holistic curriculum. Working closely with students with additional needs, the successful candidate will assist in managing a class of up to 8 pupils, ensuring their academic and pastoral needs are met. Supported by a collaborative team and under the guidance of the Class Teacher, the SEN Teaching Assistant will contribute to creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
* Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (35 hours per week)
* Weeks per year Term time: (38 weeks per year)
* Contract Type: Permanent
* Salary: £17,500.00 per year
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide support to the Class Teacher in delivering high-quality subject lessons aligned with best practices.
* Assist in managing support staff to enhance the overall pupil experience.
* Address pupil issues following established protocols and contribute to the school’s safeguarding efforts.
* Participate in the school’s appraisal process, meeting CPD requirements and training.
* Take responsibility for health and safety, promote equal opportunities, and maintain thorough record-keeping.
* Engage in teaching duties, monitor standards, attend professional meetings, and interact with parents and stakeholders.
* Contribute to report preparation, curriculum development, school events, and continuous professional development.
