Job Description
The role will be to plan, organise, develop, direct, and control the activities of the production team to accomplish the short and long-range goals and objectives.
This person will work closely with the Team in all activities to ensure the safety, profitability, and success of the production team.
This includes but is not limited to leadership and supervision of Team Members in a Continuous Improvement Environment and utilising Lean Principles with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
About The Role
* Leadership of your team and area to ensure full Health, safety and Environmental compliance and initiatives are followed.
* Demonstrate good leadership skills to manage a team of production supervisors/team leaders and work closely with cross functional teams.
* Management of the production process, ensuring production & quality targets are achieved.
* Manage the delivery of customer ready quality to both internal and external customers with zero defects.
* Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and cost-efficiency.
* Performance manage all team members in your area of responsibility setting and managing yearly smart goals in line with High Performance framework.
* Overall responsibility of maintenance and training for equipment specific to your area.
* Strategic planning of headcount, production costs and spend to within budget and targets.
* Identify production CAPEX requirements to ensure capability, support organisational strategies.
* Work closely with leadership team to drive operational improvements, order fulfilment, quality control, and shipping.
* Evaluate and expeditiously evaluate internal and external quality feedback and act on it from the key department managers.
* Prepare, review, and manage production and distribution budgets that ensure all financial objectives are achieved.
* Train, develop, and coach direct reports in hiring, staff development, disciplinary actions and human resource policy.

Desired Criteria
Required Criteria
* Educated to a Third level Qualification in engineering/business related subject and/or 3 years’ experience managing a team preferably in a heavy engineering environment or 5 Years at supervisor level in a manufacturing environment.
* Significant experience in manufacturing management in a lean, heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
* Experience planning and coordinate production schedules to meet customer and shipping demands.
* Experience working with shipping and logistic departments.
* Coping with Pressures & Setbacks.
* Experience using an ERP system specifically Epicor/Oracle would be advantageous.
* Experience with budget management.
* Ability to interact professionally with all levels of internal management, staff as well as outside clients and suppliers.
* Knowledge of continuous improvement lean methodology.
* High degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion required.
* Able and willing to drive improvements and effectively champion change.
