About the role:
The role of a Managing Enterprise Architect is to lead on engagement delivery with existing or new clients, this may be advisory or transformation delivery. You will be expected to shape the way the engagement is defined and delivered, manage the client relationship at senior including board level, provide the leadership, direction, and support for the delivery team. You will also be expected to have strong commercial and financial awareness and management skills to ensure that we deliver good business for Eviden as well as for the client.
The role will require the ability to lead on business development including the development of compelling bid responses and delivering client presentations to secure new work for the team. You will have line management responsibility and play a key part in the on-going development of our people and market facing offerings. This will include acting as a role model for more junior consultants and supporting mentoring and reverse mentoring initiatives.
Note: The candidate should also hold or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance to work with UK public sector organisations.
Key responsibilities:
1. Lead workshops and interviews with key stakeholders to understand the customer’s business and IT requirements and the related system landscape and operating model.
2. Create system and solution architectures that meet the customer requirements and are compliant with Enterprise Architecture principles.
3. Develop solution architectures which have a wider appreciation and coherence with both security & service architecture and cost or commercial constraints/requirements.
4. Consult with customers to understand their concerns and develop hypothesis-based findings that can be customer tested and produce recommendations and benefits and delivery plan on a page.
5. Define and integrate digital solutions into an organisation’s strategy and vision.
6. Prepare and lead (as necessary or as part of a team) customer presentations outlining recommended solution architectures and benefits.
7. Work within the team to contribute to and develop thought leadership around architecture and solution offerings and contribute to related value propositions.
8. Technically lead the preparation of bid responses to RFPs and develop the solutions based on case studies or experience along with a delivery plan and associated assumptions and risks.
9. Create and manage project/engagement financial models including reviews and approvals.
10. Engagement management including financial controls such as client invoicing, status reporting, risk and issue management.
11. People management including team leadership and staff development.
Skills we can’t do without:
1. Leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
2. Experience with cloud and application technologies (AWS, Azure, Google, Salesforce, Pega, ServiceNow, SAP).
3. Proficiency in at least one hyperscaler platform.
4. A good understanding of, or certification in, TOGAF (or equivalent framework) and its application to customer landscapes, with a focus on deriving designs and solutions that align with business value.
5. Knowledge of data and security architecture.
6. Experience using Archimate notation with tools like SparxEA or BizDesign.
7. Awareness of ITIL, DevSecOps, and full digital solutions lifecycle.
8. Strong client-facing and consultative abilities.
9. Workshop facilitation and presentation skills.
10. Proficient in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
11. Understanding of waterfall and agile (Prince2, SAFe).
12. Familiarity with Government Digital Services (GDS).
13. Financial and engagement management to lead consultant teams.
14. Certification in one or more Cloud technologies.
15. Knowledge of hosting deployment approaches (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containers, microservices).
16. TOGAF certification (or equivalent framework).
17. Understanding of ITIL, Agile methodologies, and DevSecOps.
18. Appreciation of security and high-level network architecture (on-prem and cloud).
19. Familiarity with IoT and Blockchain.
20. Basic understanding of business case development, project, and risk management.
21. Knowledge of current application development tools and approaches.
22. Awareness of industry trends and their impact on customer solutions.
23. Service design and ITIL fundamentals, including change management.
24. Have UK&I mobility to deliver engagements nationwide.
25. Hold or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance to work with UK public sector organisations.
