Job Summary
Due to growth, we are seeking certified Aircraft Fitters to join our Defence manufacturing facilities on the Isle of Wight.
Our Fitters perform standard tasks in compliance with Work Instructions and Safety standards, working closely with a team, with flexibility to work shifts and overtime. You will identify safety concerns, suggest improvements, and contribute to a positive, safe work culture, supported by your Team Leader.
Job Responsibilities
Typical duties include:
* Working on aircraft main and sub-assemblies, using appropriate techniques, tools, and fixtures, based on technical data and competencies.
* Reading drawings and procedures to meet regulatory and customer standards, working with composite and metallic structures.
* Performing tasks to high standards, reporting safety or quality issues immediately.
* Following all safety and environmental policies.
* Understanding key performance indicators and contributing to team goals.
* Becoming certified at Lean Foundation level and implementing Kaizen improvements monthly.
* Supporting problem-solving and team engagement initiatives.
* Promoting a 'Great Place to Work' culture through safety, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
* Adhering to all legal and regulatory requirements, including company policies and export controls.
Job Qualifications
Ideal candidates will:
* Have 2-4 years of apprenticeship or relevant certification as an aircraft fitter, with the ability to interpret drawings and work with composite and metallic structures.
* Take pride in quality work, be friendly and collaborative, and communicate effectively.
* Be safety-conscious and eligible to work in the UK.
Note: This role requires UK National Security Vetting (UKNSV) Security clearance, which involves residency requirements.
