The Housing Department is expanding, and the firm is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Housing Solicitor to join their team. Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a varied caseload with a focus on housing law matters. This includes advising and representing clients in landlord-tenant disputes, disrepair claims, housing possession proceedings, and homelessness cases. The Housing Solicitor will join a well-established and supportive team, with ample opportunities to build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert legal advice to clients on a wide range of housing law matters, including tenancy agreements, housing disrepair, eviction proceedings, and homelessness.
* Manage a varied caseload, ensuring that cases are handled efficiently and that clients receive practical and timely advice.
* Represent clients in court hearings, tribunals, and mediations, advocating for favorable outcomes.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate and detailed records for all client matters.
* Collaborate closely with colleagues to develop new business opportunities and contribute to the firm’s ongoing growth.
* Keep clients updated on the progress of their cases, managing client expectations effectively.
* Stay up to date with the latest developments in housing law to ensure that advice remains current and relevant.
Key Requirements:
* Qualified Solicitor with experience in housing law (3+ years PQE).
* Strong knowledge of housing legislation, case law, and experience managing housing-related cases, including court representation.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage a caseload independently.
* Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
* A proactive approach to business development and a willingness to contribute to the department’s expansion.
* Experience working in a Legal 500 firm or a similar top-tier practice is highly desirable but not essential.
