An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fire Safety Manager at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal, strategic, financial, technical and organisational skills, to work with the team to drive forward the capital agenda in South Tees.
As Fire Safety Manager, you will work closely with the Deputy Director of Estates, Capital and Programmes and the wider Estates team. You will assist in the lead for fire safety across the Trust and be responsible for the Trust's fire safety programme, delivering an ‘outstanding’ healthcare environment for patients and staff.
As part of the Estates and Facilities Team, and an organisation striving for excellence, you will work to ensure Fire Safety is professionally led, patient focused, and strategically aligned to the aims and values of the organisation, incorporating and embedding best practice and technology at every opportunity.
You will be comfortable working in a multi-stakeholder environment and bring a collaborative approach to enable you to deliver in partnership with colleagues and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Formulate and lead the development of a Trust-wide Fire Safety Strategy, promoting a raised awareness of fire across the organisation so that fire safety is integral to all activities and arrangements in place.
* Develop close working relationships with the Executive Directors and all Senior managers to ensure that there is a coordinated and coherent approach to governance and fire risk.
* Ensure effective systems are in place to collate and analyse highly complex information regarding risk management and health & safety.
* Work collaboratively with senior managers to ensure all fire risks are identified, assessed, and action plans developed to mitigate risks the organisation is exposed to.
* Ensure systems are in place to evidence compliance with legislation, standards, and approved codes of practice for fire safety.
* Provide expert support, advice, training, and leadership on mandatory and role-specific fire training, including supporting the identification, management, reporting, investigation, and learning from risks and adverse incidents.
Leadership and Improvement Training
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to:

* Develop your Leadership effectiveness and skills
* Equip you with the skills to champion, lead, and complete quality improvement within your role.
After completing this four and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities.
