We are now recruiting for a Lead CDM Advisor to join us on our major project located in Warrington. Purpose and Scope: As the Senior CDM Adviser, you will be required to support the Amentum Principal Designer (PD) Duty Holder on a major design and construction project, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, and providing leadership on the deployment of the CDM2015 Principal Designer duties. Specific responsibilities include: Maintain oversight of the status and storage location of the Project CDM documentation required to demonstrate compliance against the legal obligations of PD, e.g. Health & Safety file, pre-construction phase information, and the plan for the storage, sharing and co-ordination of information. Assist with and maintain the ‘golden thread’ of information. Co-ordinate the development and maintenance of the Project Health & Safety File. Interface with stakeholders to ensure relevant information is obtained and included. Assist with development of the Construction Phase Plan, ensuring inclusion of relevant pre-construction information. Manage and chair relevant PD communication and co-ordination meetings and workshops. Set up and manage suitable communication channels and mechanisms for PD related information. Liaise with the client, other CDM duty holders and other stakeholders as appropriate, to ensure that all risks are effectively managed. Ensure design is carried out in line with the principles of prevention, ensuring residual significant risks are clearly communicated to stakeholders. Ensure constructability, usability and maintainability has been properly addressed in design. Liaise with the client, other CDM duty holders and other stakeholders as appropriate, to share any information relevant to the planning, management, monitoring and coordination of the work. Liaise with the Client to ensure that they are aware of their duties under CDM2015, and support the client as needed. Review and appraise, when required, risk assessments, method statements and related safety control documentation. Ensure CDM/PD related competency checks have been carried out on the relevant project and supply chain stakeholders and ensure competency status is managed. Develop, implement, and maintain the Amentum Project Technical Assurance Function Principal Designer Management & Oversight Manual. Ensure ongoing adherence to the processes and provide guidance on interpretation where appropriate. Act as the main interface between the Project construction and EH&S teams on all matters relating to CDM and PD. Liaise with the relevant project stakeholders to understand risk areas and to gather LFE and indicators on CDM/PD performance and issues. Carry out site and office safety walk downs. Carry out CDM/PD related inspections and audits on work locations, contracts, and on the supply chain. Foster excellent collaborative relations with all stakeholders. Ensure that project teams are kept update on relevant HSE/CDM legislation. Experience: Relevant engineering degree is preferred, but relevant H&S qualifications considered. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent. Previous demonstrable experience in CDM and/or Principal Designer roles (as the appointed duty holder or in a support capacity). At least 5 years experience of working in a highly regulated industry; experience of working in the Defence or Nuclear Sectors an advantage. Trained and/or qualified in HSE auditing with relevant auditing experience. Construction site experience preferred. Experience of HSE management at the design stage and of supply chain activities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent organisational and leadership skills. Committed to ongoing learning and development. Meets requirements for SC security clearance including residence in the UK for at least the last 5 years. You will be eligible for UK SC security clearance.
