About the Role The role of the Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop. To ensure all activities are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards, with support from the Aftersales Support Manager. This role involves co-ordinating workloads and supervising the Somerset based workshop team. Responsibilities On a day-to-day basis you will: Oversee the smooth running of all workshop activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring deadlines are met. Coordinate workflow, monitor work progress, and ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications as required. Ensure that all equipment, tools, and materials are readily available and properly maintained and that any issues are reported. Ensure that all machines are Quality checked before leaving the premises. Work with the Sales Department and Aftersales Support Manager to ensure that all new machines are ready for delivery and that any delays are communicated in a timely manner. Work with the Sales Department and Aftersales Support Manager with regards to truck refurbishment programs. Oversee Apprentice Engineers and assist with aspects of their Training and Education, with full support from the Aftersales Support Manager. Candidate Requirements Essential: Ability to co-ordinate workload and supervise the team, ensuring that everyone works together efficiently and effectively Problem-solving skills, with an ability to react quickly in order to address issues quickly and effectively whilst under pressure. Strong engineering skills, preferably within the MHE Industry. Excellent communication skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritise. Attention to Detail with a focus on ensuring the precision and quality of work produced. Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety within the workplace. Desirable: Ability to travel if whereby overnight stays may occasionally be required. Familiarity with Materials Handling equipment, machinery, and tools. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with Protean software, although full training will be given. CFTS Qualified.
