Analysis & Reporting (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)
This is a rare opportunity to shape the development of sustainable service and pricing models to secure the future of our business.
Having a love of numbers, an interest in process analysis and an enquiring mind regarding both cost inputs and market benchmarking will be a great starting point. However, true success will come from dissecting our business operations and service offering and being prepared to ask questions. The icing on the cake will be your ability to put all that together into meaningful cost and price models that will underpin our decisions.
What You'll Do:
Under the guidance of the Chief Operating Officer while working closely with the Finance Team, GM Commercial and key Operations Managers:
* Build & Maintain: Operational cost models for labour, capital, and overheads. Adapt them as inputs change over time.
* Subcontractor & Labour Hire: Develop cost models and keep them updated with an eye on legislative changes.
* Core Transport Solutions: Create and refine pricing models that balance all cost inputs with margin goals.
* Contract Management: Track milestones, calculate rate adjustments, and notify management of required actions.
* New Software Rollouts: Lead and support the introduction of new pricing-related software.
* Annual Price Reviews:
o Develop & Implement: A comprehensive pricing review calendar for our Rapid Haulage and Rapid Refrigeration customers, as well as specific contracts.
o Rate Cards: Build standard rate cards and manage mid-term reviews.
o Auditing: Ensure accuracy in pricing reviews and non-standard rate card adjustments.
* New Business & Project Pricing:
o Assist: Identify necessary data and calculate relevant cost inputs for new projects.
o Margin Assessments: Evaluate proposed pricing for new business opportunities.
o Post-Implementation Review: Monitor performance against pricing assumptions for projects valued over $200k annually.
* Innovative Pricing Models:
o Develop: Comprehensive models to measure profitability and set prices based on direct and indirect cost inputs.
o Areas Covered: Linehaul, Regional, Local, Warehouse Storage, Warehouse Handling, and Container Unpacks.
This is a tremendous (and rare) opportunity to learn about and influence a broad (and highly successful) logistics business.
You may be a recent graduate with limited experience or have completed part-time studies while active in the workforce. While we don’t expect you to have firsthand experience in transport and logistics (it would clearly help), it is more important that you are able to demonstrate the questioning skills, process mapping and analytical skills needed to be successful. We would clearly expect exceptional Excel skills and ideally experience using Power BI tools, while your ability to present meaningful data to key decision makers is critical.
What We Offer:
* Competitive Salary: Reflective of your skills and experience.
* Growth Opportunities: A chance to advance your career in a thriving industry.
* Supportive Team Environment: Work alongside passionate professionals committed to excellence.
* Resources: Access to the latest technology and resources.
