Our pioneering work discovered the role of Lynparza (Olaparib) for tumours with imperfect DNA repair. This is now saving lives all around the world and has provided us with unprecedented multi-million-pound funding to deliver innovative healthcare that meets the needs of our local diverse communities. You will be able to apply for dedicated cancer research funding to build your team via the Yorkshire Cancer Research (YCR) Sheffield Pioneers fund and the YCR More Life to Live fund, annual schemes ringfenced for applications led by Sheffield investigators. With five inter-related themes of research addressing cancer research from; prevention to screening, diagnosis, treatment, follow up, palliation, survival and quality of life, we can accommodate a wide range of interests whilst retaining relevance to the cancers that most affect our population.
