Thorn Baker are working in collaboration with an established Facilities Management SME based in the Greater London area. We are looking to resource a Cleaning Area Manager to effectively manage and monitor 22 mixed business sites across the Watford/London area.
Our client is looking for someone who is currently doing a similar role or someone who is ready to take the next step up from being a supervisor. A background of working in similar environments is essential; the contracts include education, logistics, and commercial buildings. The main duties of this role are, but are not limited to:
* Ensure that work undertaken is in line with the company’s policies/procedures and current legislation.
* Maintain contract retention targets on a consistent basis.
* Follow all aspects of Health and Safety at all times and ensure that quarterly H&S audits are carried out with a monthly cleaning inspection.
* Manage recruitment and selection of employees and ensure termination is carried out within the framework of current employment legislation.
* Effectively recruit, train, and develop employees and be responsible for their onboarding/training and progression.
* Manage a motivated, flexible, and contented workforce.
* Control overheads and operational costs for the account and ensure profitability.
* Implement cost-saving initiatives where applicable.
* Offer effective solutions to client escalations.
* Plan, manage, and organize the operational activities of the account and oversee work scheduling.
* Ensure proper standards of service/cleaning are established and maintained; any deficiencies should be remedied as soon as possible with the client to ensure the smooth running of the account.
* Ensure the account is adequately staffed at all times and services are properly supervised.
* Complete performance reviews for employees and ensure compliance with the policies/procedures of Glenn Cleaning and the client.
* Ensure adequate equipment and materials are available at the site.
* Administer the account including relations, training, personnel, and accident reporting, together with the company’s grievance and disciplinary procedures.
* Maintain and control account costs through the control of materials and wages to ensure expenditure is within agreed budgetary guidelines.
* Attend training courses and meetings as requested to keep abreast of new techniques and skills.
* Carry out any other reasonable requests from the job holder's superior.
