Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for 2 enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our highly skilled team. You will join our dynamic Apprenticeship Scheme within Honeywell Aerospace in Yeovil. You will work alongside qualified and experienced Honeywell Engineers to develop your Engineering skills whilst undertaking part time academic studies.
During the Degree level Aerospace Engineer apprenticeship, you'll gain the below nationally recognised qualification:
• Level 4 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Development Competence)
• Level 6 Bachelor Honours Degree (BEng) Stipulated by the employer and accredited by an Engineering Council licenced Professional Engineering Institution over the final two years
• End-Point Assessment (EPA)
All of the qualification requirements in the foundation and development phases are mandatory outcomes for the completion and final certification of the Apprenticeship Standard. Each qualification has a core and options approach and employers will select the most applicable pathway and unit options to meet their organisational requirements.
Aerospace Apprentice Engineers will work primarily within a specific Engineering discipline such as Design, Research and Development, Stress Analysis, Performance Analysis and Project or Systems Engineering.
These positions are dedicated to our Stress Engineering Office where you will receive training on the analysis of a wide variety of aerospace components subjected to pressure, temperature, acceleration, shock, vibration, thermal and other loads using Finite Element Analysis, Excel, MathCad and other tools.
Also, the interpretation of specification requirements, presentation of results and report writing.
Key Requirements:
• A-Level standard or equivalent - Including two STEM based subject such as maths, Physics, ICT, Computing, Electronics or a Level 3 Engineering related qualification.
• 5 GCSEs at grades C/4 or above (or equivalent) - Including maths, English and Double Science.
• We are able consider degree holders for this apprenticeship.
• Ability to demonstrate an interest in Engineering, (such as a hobby or any courses etc.)
