This is an opportunity for talented, high performing and ambitious Senior Manager to join the Methodology team in the Audit Quality Directorate in an exciting period and help to shape the role and the expanding team.
You will report into the Methodology Partner and work closely with Audit Advisory Directors.
The successful candidate will have significant experience in managing and executing audit and audit-related projects (such as CASS), with exemplary technical skills regarding auditing standards and their practical application.
The role will be primarily based in London although some visits to other offices may also be required. They can offer alternative base office locations of Manchester and Birmingham if needed.
In this challenging and rewarding role you will be responsible for:
1. Managing and supporting with the delivery of key audit methodology projects
2. Responding to audit methodology queries from audit staff at all levels (email, telephone or in person)
3. Sharing industry developments with audit partners and directors
4. Ensuring that audit/CASS methodology remains in line with best practice and the expectations of the FRC.
5. Ad hoc methodology related assignments
6. Writing and updating guidance material
7. Development and delivery of audit methodology training content
8. Provision of support for the development and delivery of group learning sessions which are led by partners and managers in the audit stream.
9. Carrying out targeted file reviews to identify areas of best practice and areas requiring further audit guidance.
The successful candidate will have responsibilities for forward looking and pre-emptive consideration of upcoming developments and business needs identified in relation to audit methodology.

Youll be someone with:
10. ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification
11. Considers themselves an expert with regards to the UK auditing standards
12. Significant current hands-on practical asset management and capital markets audit /CASS experience
13. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team and able to use own initiative.
14. Ability to think outside the box and pioneer in using existing methodology and best practice to independently develop methodology for current and future business models.
15. Wide-ranging practical experience regarding application of ISAs and audit methodology is essential; experience in IT auditing techniques would be an added advantage.
