Role Purpose: Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, the Fire Alarm Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and executing Fire Protection system installations, commissioning, servicing, maintenance, and fault diagnosis across a diverse range of residential, commercial, and industrial sites throughout Scotland. This role requires the ability to read, interpret, and apply complex technical drawings and industry standards. The Technician will work both independently and as part of a team, with responsibility for directing and managing subcontractors as needed. Strong technical expertise, combined with exceptional time management and problem-solving abilities, is essential to excel in this role. Key Responsibilities: Install, test, and commission state-of-the-art fire alarm systems in accordance with technical designs and industry standards, ensuring the highest level of safety. Conduct planned maintenance and routine inspections of fire alarm systems to guarantee peak performance and compliance. Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, swiftly identifying and eliminating causes of false or unwanted alarms to ensure system reliability. Provide expert technical training and support to clients and team members, empowering them with the knowledge to maintain and operate systems confidently. Leverage a deep understanding of fire industry standards, ensuring all systems are installed and maintained in full alignment with fire codes and regulations. Deliver project results on time and within budget, ensuring efficiency and high-quality outcomes for each project. Accurately complete and submit all required paperwork and system updates, ensuring smooth project management and compliance with company standards. Cultivate strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring effective collaboration and mutual success. Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Management Team, contributing to the broader goals and success of the company Qualifications and Experience: Good working knowledge of Fire Industry standards. Strong technical knowledge of Fire Alarm and Fire Protection systems and designs. Physically fit and ability to work at height Good understanding of relevant Health and Safety at work activities (i.e Risk Assessment and Method Statements) Relevant Electrical installation training / qualification Specific knowledge of Honeywell, Siemens and Hochiki Fire Alarm systems (training will be provided to the successful candidate). Fire industry knowledge with a minimum 5 years demonstratable experience is preferable but not essential as other similar experiences may be considered. What Makes You a Great Fit?
