The Maintenance Technician will ensure that our manufacturing process continues to deliver world class products as efficiently as possibly through efficient preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown response and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing, process development and quality control areas. The incumbent will assist in projects to deliver quality, productivity, safety and cost reductions across the site in support of equipment systems and laboratory upgrades., Ensure manufacturing process equipment is available and maintained to the correct standards. Participate as a team member in multi-functional corporate site projects, taking ownership and responsibility in delivering actions and tasks specific to the operational support team. Trouble shoot equipment and process issues, and repair equipment to ensure day to day manufacturing issues are resolved and actioned in a timely manner. Complete & monitor essential preventative maintenance tasks - providing clear and concise handover to the department at end of shift. Update, review and analyse department critical metrics (daily/weekly/monthly) to ensure operational support teams performance is being achieved and maintained along with identifying improvement opportunities using data driven decisions. Work with other departments to develop and improve the current facility, facility systems and manufacturing process equipment to help deliver change and improve key performance metrics & goals Previous experience in facility and equipment maintenance, Working knowledge of control systems including Siemens & Allen Bradley. Practical experience of facility & manufacturing equipment maintenance solving issues within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Good communication skills - works across functions. Results driven. Team player and self-starter. Ability to learn and develop current skills and behaviors to progress within the function and lead by example. Ability to set up relationships with current and new vendors to develop processes and system to drive continuous improvement within manufacturing process using. Knowledge of process excellence techniques; lean manufacturing, Six sigma and SPC etc., Minimum HNC or City in guilds in an engineering discipline Experience working within a medical device manufacturing environment or cGMP manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential. Previous experience of working within team and delivering projects deliverables essential. Experience of working and maintaining facility & process equipment essential. Role could require occasional travel and out of hours working. Role will require working in controlled environments e.g. Cleanroom. Flexible work patterns.
