Site Manager (Facilities Management)
Location: Hull - Winifred Holtby & Tweendykes School
Working hours: 38.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Your new role
What you’ll do:
* To effectively train and deploy the school’s caretaking staff to ensure that they keep all areas of the site clean, safe, and secure.
* To draw up an annual planned preventative maintenance programme (including estimated costings), outlining priorities for the maintenance and development of the site including pool management, and to ensure the plan is implemented.
* To monitor plant and equipment, to ensure maximum efficiency, including operating / supervising the operation of the school’s heating and ventilation systems.
* To commission specialists where necessary, to address problems / recommend solutions.
* To supervise and undertake minor refurbishments, building work, repairs and replacements where possible within 24 hours of detection.
* To ensure the school environment and immediate perimeter is kept free of graffiti and litter daily.
* To prepare risk assessments relating to caretaking duties and other noncurricular activities, to ensure legal requirements are met and safe working practices adhered to.
* To monitor the performance of contractors to ensure that all work is of an acceptable standard and liaise with contractors to remedy any shortfall in performance.
* To ensure that the school inventory is kept up to date so that equipment, materials and stock are accounted for.
* Ensure the performance management of the site team thereby providing best value and relevant training needs of the team are met.
* To ensure that the facilities and services operate in compliance with Health and Safety legislation and procedures at all times and to report all accidents and incidents as and when required.
What you’ll need:
To be successful in your application, you will have excellent communications skills with the ability to liaise with school personnel, external authorities, colleagues, and contractors, maintaining professionalism at all times. You will have experience with managing subcontractors, including induction, H&S compliance, and pool management. Ideally from a maintenance background, you will be able to handle some maintenance and minor works. Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced DBS Check before starting in the job.
