What skills and experience we're looking for
Working in a supportive role in a caring environment, you will support the educational, personal and social development of students with varied and sometimes multiple learning barriers and needs in the classroom, in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to the achievements of our young people (11–16 years) who need additional support and understanding.
We are ideally looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated applicants with experience of working with young people (voluntary or paid), preferably in a school environment, who are passionate about supporting students to achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding and varied role where you will need a positive and flexible approach to work. Hours of work will be Monday 8.30am to 4.30pm and 8.30am to 3.30pm Tuesday to Friday
What the school offers its staff
You will be part of a large and supportive team of TAs in the Learning, Intervention and Nurture Centre (The LINC) which has a great reputation for supporting students with special educational needs, disabilities, anxiety, learning barriers and multiple and complex needs. Your support will enable students to access a broad and balanced academic and social curriculum and to be fully included in all aspects of school life and will support the school’s vision of ‘no child left behind.’
All staff are encouraged and have access to a wide range of Continued Professional Development opportunities to either further their current career or develop in a new area. Your health and wellbeing are important to us at Myton School with all staff having access to the Westfield Health ‘Healthy Extras’ provision. This includes access to a 24 hour Doctor line, emotional support and counselling, financial advice and debt counselling and specialist information on a wide range of work-life issues. You will also have access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
