Your role: As a Consultant Psychiatrist you will understand the issues, handle complex information and formulate management of the relative effectiveness and side-effects of medication and therapy as these apply to individual patients. Assessment of referrals/admissions. Care plan and treatment formulation. Guidance on evidence-based treatment and effectiveness. Liaison and collaborative working with other services/agencies. Mental Health Act implementation. Range of interventions available from a diverse MDT Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients. Diagnose and treat mental illnesses and disorders. Develop and implement treatment plans. Prescribe and monitor medications. Provide therapy and counselling to patients. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records. You will be able to support the prescribing medical provider and Behavioural Health Care Manager in treating patients with behavioural health problems. You will be the clinical lead of the team and you will ensure high quality; patient-centred, effective, safe and efficient care is delivered by your teams. You will be working with female and male patients with mental health conditions. We require the following attributes: Valid GMC registration Excellent communication skills Evidence of post registration Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act & Code of Practice. Previous experience as a consultant CCST/CCT or equivalent in the relevant areas of psychiatry. Previous experience as a consultant level within the NHS Ability to conduct training. You will be expected to: Participate in the on-call rota. Fulfil the role of responsible/Approved clinician to patients.
