Role Overview: We’re looking for skilled Design Engineers to join our expanding team. Ideal candidates will have a solid background in electronics, hardware development, and related software engineering. In this role, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating and co-developing technology across various engineering fields and contributing to a fast-paced development process. We seek individuals with a strong interest in scientific innovation, an ability to rapidly grasp new information, apply first-principles thinking to novel challenges, and a proactive, problem-solving approach. Experience in startups or research (PhD or equivalent) within scientific, engineering, or robotics technologies is desirable. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize aerosol analysis technologies. Apply engineering principles to create high-throughput experimental tools and control software. Analyze and interpret experimental data to address measurement artifacts. Contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where your input is highly valued. Present technological and scientific advancements at international conferences. Conduct testing to ensure the performance, efficiency, and safety of measurement technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional scientific teams to create new experimental hardware. You’ll take responsibility for the development of high-throughput experimental aerosol analysis technologies, designing and implementing scientific instruments involving hardware integration, software development, communication protocols, and embedded systems programming. Qualifications: A relevant degree or equivalent experience/qualifications. An innovative, problem-solving, and collaborative mindset. Excellent communication skills, including scientific writing and presentation abilities. Ability to work both independently and within a team in a fast-paced startup setting. Proficiency in designing and analyzing analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, and sensors. Experience designing digital circuits, including microcontrollers and digital signal processing (DSP), with expertise in creating PCB layouts using CAD tools. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python for embedded systems and data analysis. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and design. Understanding of materials properties as they relate to mechanical design. Experience designing and implementing embedded system architectures, including hardware, software, and operating system integration. Familiarity with data acquisition systems and software for experimental data collection. Proficiency in interfacing various input/output (I/O) devices (e.g., sensors, actuators) with control systems, including appropriate protocol use and hardware compatibility considerations.
