Your Role Southern Water are currently recruiting an Assistant Process Operator to undertake general site upkeep activities and general duties across our Water Storage Reservoirs (WSR) and Water Booster Stations (WBS) sites in Sussex. You will be required to arrange and accompany contractors and visitors to sites. Your primary role is reservoir site security, booster checks, maintaining site compliance, hatch cover cleaning, and general site upkeep within the infrastructure and escalation of works. You will be required to deal with several different contacts primarily from outside the Company and programme and accompany them to sites within our policy and procedures. You will need to develop a professional working relationship with both our external contracted partners, other stakeholders as well as internal support teams. Making appointments for visitors (via Schedulers) and accompanying visitors/contractors ensuring safe access, egress to working areas and always ensuring the security of the site with general maintenance and housekeeping. The role requires strict adherence to health and safety rules under the H&S at work ACT 1974 (and 2015 amendments). As a result the use of varied business applications forms an integral part of the role. Your Job as an Assistant Process Operator: • The upkeep of sites to a very high standard • Ensure site compliance • Identify and escalate infrastructural issues within the framework • Complete weekly batch of jobs without accumulating a backlog • Maintain site compliance to ISO140001 standards • Manage the safety of visitors, both to internal and external, and provide access • Be flexible to react to impromptu events and requests • Develop and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders • Team player • Customer liaise-ons The successful candidate will ideally have the following experience and knowledge: • Knowledge of ISO9001 is an advantage, or has previously worked in a water production environment. • Knowledge of Water Booster Stations, Water supply reservoirs and Water treatment works. • An awareness of ISO14001 Environmental Management. • Works well as a team and have the ability to work unsupervised. • Good communication skills. • Some experience of dealing with customers and arranging appointments • General G.C.S.E. / ’O’ levels of which two must be to grade C or above in English language and Maths / Science. • Water hygiene card Essential must have: • Valid UK driving licence as a company van will be provided • Be willing to learn A negative drug and alcohol test Privacy Statement: Please note: If you are an existing Southern Water employee, you will need to confirm within your application that your Manager is aware of your application.
