Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
This is an annualised contract for .78 hours per annum. Total starting salary for unqualified staff: £48,.05, per annum (£30,.67 for support hours plus £17,. for sleep overs) -Total starting salary for qualified staff: £49,.67per annum (£31,.88 for support hours plus £17,.79 for sleep overs.

We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Live-In Support Worker to join our team in East Lothian and help us transform lives!
Main Purpose:
The main purpose of this post is to provide a caring, efficient, and effective 24/7 support service to people who use The Action Group’s services. This includes assisting people to develop their skills by supervising and participating in various support activities in a way that enriches their opportunities and promotes choice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Coordination: Practise the TAG Key Worker system by organising support plans and case reviews, ensuring effective handovers between staff, and maintaining comprehensive records and case files.
2. Wellbeing Promotion: Support individuals to maintain acceptable levels of self-care, conduct risk assessments, and promote overall physical and emotional wellbeing.
3. Relationship Building: Develop meaningful and trusting relationships, helping individuals gain insight into their behaviour, attitudes, and reactions.
4. Encouraging Independence: Foster independence in daily living activities such as housework, food preparation, and household administration, providing support only when necessary.
5. Activity and Community Engagement: Promote hobbies, interests, and participation in community life, including organising and accompanying individuals on day trips and activities.
6. Personal Care: Assist with personal care as required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
7. Communication Support: Enhance individuals' communication skills and promote self-advocacy.
8. Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of individuals with external organisations regarding benefits, education, tenancy, and employment.
9. Family and Carer Collaboration: Work with relatives and carers, arranging support plans and dealing with concerns, ensuring their significant role in the individual’s life.
10. Local Resource Utilisation: Identify and utilise local services, amenities, and organisations to support individuals.
11. Group and Individual Support: Provide support to both individuals and groups, tailored to their specific needs.
Working Hours:
12. 7 days on / 7 days off: Enjoy a balanced schedule with 7 consecutive working days followed by 7 days off.
13. Daily Schedule: Work from 7 am to 11pm with a two-hour unpaid break (14 hours total per day).
14. Sleepover: Immediately followed by a sleepover from 11 pm to 7 am (8 hours).
Qualifications:
15. Experience in support work or a similar role preferred.
16. Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the lives of others.
17. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
18. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
19. Willingness to participate in physical activities and community events.
