Freightserve recruitment are looking for an experienced Import Road and Seafreight person for a small busy Freight Forwarder based in the Heathrow area.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Ensure compliance with the customs regulations of the UK, through internal notifications and customs web site.
2. Transpose customs declaration information from documents and other data sources into the customs brokerage system accurately.
3. Manage and meet required internal and external KPIs specific to the customer base.
4. Build and maintain strong relationships with the customer base.
5. Be responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, documenting the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and ensuring they are legal and legitimate.
6. Ensure all is in order in relation to import quotas, customs tariffs, trade agreements, and HM Revenue and Customs regulations.
7. Keep up to date on all regulatory requirements governing imports.
8. Be commercially aware of job costings and profitability, ensuring maximum profitability for the organisation.
9. Manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations.
10. Accountable for printing and active allocation of all pre-alerts to ensure files are not missed and handed out promptly to the individuals within the department on a daily basis.
11. Ensure that all deliveries are arranged prior to vessel arrival at port, and book with hauliers.
12. Ensure that customs formalities are completed.
13. Ensure that if declaring any values on deferment account for duty/VAT, these should be billed to the customer the same day as declaration.
Working hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm.
