This family-owned and run manufacturing business has been dedicated to producing high-quality products for over 100 years. Based in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, they are experiencing a huge growth cycle due to the success of their much-loved product, which is shipped globally.
As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of production machinery and will play a crucial role in maintaining the business's long-standing high standards of productivity, efficiency, and safety. You will perform both planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment throughout the factory, diagnosing and repairing faults as required.
This role is offered on a days-only basis, with minimal work required at weekends, and an early finish on Fridays. You will have the option of overtime, and on occasion, be required to cover urgent maintenance tasks during evenings or weekends, or during busy periods.

What we need from you:
1. Conducting scheduled maintenance and repairs on production equipment including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
2. Responding promptly to machinery breakdowns to minimise downtime.
3. Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults.
4. Repairing machinery and testing repairs.
5. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
6. Ensure all planned work is completed with minimal disruption to production.
7. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company standards.
What you need to succeed:
1. Proven experience as a Multi Skilled Engineer, preferably in a food manufacturing or similar environment.
2. Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in troubleshooting and repairing machinery.
3. Ability to diagnose and repair various electrical systems.
4. Knowledge of equipment to include motor overloads, contactors, variable speed drives, and relays.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
6. Qualified to NVQ Level 3 as a minimum requirement; 18th Edition is preferred.
