We are now looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team on a full-time maternity contract.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Science Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and 4. The successful candidate will join our dynamic science department and play a key role in continuing to inspire and challenge our students. The position will cover a maternity leave, starting as soon as possible, and will run for the duration of the maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
* Teach Science (open to Biology, Chemistry, and Physics specialists) to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that engage and inspire students.
* Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support development.
* Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
* Foster a positive learning environment where students can develop a love for science.
* Work collaboratively with other members of the science department and wider school team.
The Ideal Candidate:
* Ideally a qualified Science Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience teaching across Key Stage 3 and 4.
* Passionate about Science and inspiring students to achieve their best.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
* Experience of teaching GCSE Science is desirable, but not essential.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
* Have a cleared Enhanced DBS
