Engine Test Technician – Stafford
£32 – £35 ph FCSA Umbrella (inside IR35) / £22 – £25 paye

Role:
The successful candidate will join our Engineering team responsible for the development of a range of engines and electro-mechanical devices.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Data analysis and interpretation from dynamometer-based powertrain and power system testing and development.
* Gathering of data and compiling technical reports to convey test results.
* Engine control and calibration work.
* Dynamometer-based engine fault and performance investigation and reporting.
* Production validation, performance, durability, and development testing work.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
* Excellent mechanical aptitude and skills, with a good understanding of engines or similar complex systems and related systems.
* Mandatory skills in mechanical engineering fundamentals (preferably engines), assembly techniques, and mechanical skills, with the ability to read engineering drawings.
* Knowledge of tolerances, limits, and fits.
* Basic understanding and experience of measurement techniques using instrumentation would be advantageous.
* Time-served in an automotive/engineering apprenticeship or Honours Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering with experience of working in a similar role/environment.
* Working knowledge of precision dynamometer processes and experience of dyno control systems would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
* Experience of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and using investigative techniques to identify and solve problems.
* Desire to learn new technologies.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with standard office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.).
Very long-term ongoing contract opportunity (at least 12 – 24 months), likely to be longer.
Candidates from aerospace, aircraft test beds, jigs, or similar testing/data collection/data logging machinery would be considered.
£32 – £35 ph (FCSA Umbrella – this role is deemed inside IR35) £22 – £25 paye.
