A well-established Civil and Structural Engineering consultancy based in Lancaster is looking to recruit a Structural Engineer with around 3+ years' experience working in design consultancy.
The company has 4 offices across North West England and the Midlands and has recently opened a new office earlier this year. However, the Lancaster office is very well-established and one of the office Directors is a Fellow of the IStructE. The company provides strong Chartership support to junior staff as well as a pleasant environment to work and develop.
Structural Engineer Requirements:
1. Minimum three years' experience within Structural design including steelwork, reinforced concrete and masonry construction to Euro Code standards
2. HNC in Civil or Structural Engineering
3. Proficiency in structural analysis software and CAD tools
4. Design using Eurocodes and relevant British Standards to produce structural solutions using materials such as steel, concrete, timber, and masonry
5. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for construction
6. Collaborate closely with architects, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met
7. Ensure compliance with current building regulations and other industry standards
8. Monitor construction progress and provide technical support to resolve structural issues
9. Maintain accurate project documentation, calculations, and records
10. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in structural engineering
11. Commercial awareness of costing, budgets, and quotations
12. Site visits to verify construction complies with construction drawings
Desirable Experience:
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in civil or Structural Engineering
2. Understanding of STAAD.Pro, SCIA, and Revit
3. Project management and leadership skills
4. Willing to work towards or nearing Chartered Status
