You’ll work closely with the management team to build a cohesive work environment that fosters collaboration, encourages growth, and champions our vision of sustainability. With external legal support and mentoring provided, you’ll have the tools you need to succeed in this standalone role. Main duties and responsibilities: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring that we attract the best talent. Advise and support on employee relations, grievances, and disciplinary matters. Oversee performance management processes, driving productivity and development. Review and update HR policies to align with company objectives and UK employment law. Centralise and enhance training and development programmes to facilitate employee growth. Collaborate with finance to manage outsourced payroll processes and benefits administration. Drive employee engagement initiatives to cultivate a vibrant workplace culture. Provide HR reports and analytics to support informed strategic decision-making. About you: You will be an experienced HR Manager with a passion for people and a commitment to building a supportive work environment. With at least two years of HR experience, ideally within the waste management or recycling sectors, you bring a robust understanding of UK employment law and HR best practises. Your strong interpersonal skills enable you to build trust and rapport with team members at all levels, and you are adept at managing sensitive information with discretion. A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or higher) is preferred, and familiarity with People HR will be advantageous. You are proactive, organised, and ready to embrace the challenge of shaping our HR function in a dynamic and collaborative setting.
