Job Description
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Estimator to join their growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for compiling accurate and timely cost estimates for the supply of products and services. This includes calculating project costs and supporting the preparation of budgets for a range of commercial fit-out projects.\n\nApplicants must have a background in interiors or partitioning.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nReview and analyse tender documentation to produce detailed cost, material, labour, and time estimates\nEvaluate the cost-effectiveness of products and services, monitoring actual costs against initial bids\nLiaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to gather information and resolve queries\nUpdate and adjust estimates as required during the tender process\nPrepare costings for management to support planning and scheduling decisions\nProduce priced Bills of Quantities and Preliminaries\nAssist in the selection and assessment of suppliers and subcontractors\nEvaluate material and labour needs to determine cost-efficient production or purchasing options\nMaintain accurate expenditure records and reports throughout the project lifecycle\nContribute to cost reviews and initiatives aimed at standardisation or cost reduction\nSupport the tender process and participate in commercial negotiations\nEnsure a clear and effective handover of secured tenders to the delivery team\nStay informed about current market trends, pricing, and materials\nHandle sensitive information in line with data protection regulations\nComplete administrative tasks accurately and within required deadlines\nWork independently and manage workload effectively\nDemonstrate a commitment to personal development within the rolePerson Specification\n\nEssential Skills and Attributes:\n\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills\nStrong organisational ability with attention to detail\nSelf-driven and capable of working independently\nA proactive and professional attitude\nA genuine interest in the construction and interiors industryQualifications and Experience:\n\nDegree (or equivalent) in Commercial Management\nGCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)\nExperience using Conquest Estimating Software (desirable)\nPrior experience in estimating within the interiors or partitioning sector is essential\nFamiliarity with technical drawings, architectural plans, and specifications\nExperience managing budgets and contributing to financial planningHuntress Search Ltd acts as a Recruitment Agency in relation to all Permanent roles and as a Recruitment Business in relation to all Temporary roles.\n\nWe practice a diverse and inclusive recruitment process that ensures equal opportunity for all we work with, irrespective of race, sexual orientation, mental or physical disability, age or gender.
